The Senior Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for assisting clients in defining their digital marketing needs, conceptualizing strategies, and tactics to meet those needs in innovative ways and ensuring the integrity and implementation of strategic principles for assigned business units. This includes gathering and summarizing research, performing stakeholder interviews, facilitating strategy workshops with clients to gain clarity and alignment on goals, collaborating with creative teams, and developing recommendations to establish project direction. You’ll also serve as a digital marketing consultant in day-to-day interactions with both internal and external project teams, helping to solve problems and craft exceptional user experiences. This role will work with our Toolhouse team and clients.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of clients’ needs, business, franchise, products, and market, and conduct regular reviews of their competitors’ activities and online presence
- Lead discovery and research in early project stages: conduct stakeholder interviews, guide primary and secondary research, review analytics and other materials in order to distill findings for project teams
- Define marketing direction for major projects, including leading brainstorming meetings with the project team to come up with fresh ideas that can be used to create compelling strategic visions for clients
- Develop recommendations for projection direction in support of the assigned business unit based on research, industry knowledge, digital best practices, collaboration with creative teams, and established client goals
- Create or contribute to various documents and presentations such as creative briefs, positioning statements, brand ecosystem maps, digital communication plans, research plans, social media strategies, customer journeys, and digital strategy roadmaps
- Provide ongoing strategic and tactical advice to clients on a wide range of digital marketing topics, and continue to highlight the team's value in the digital marketing space
- Advise clients and internal teams in driving strategic cohesion across all related tactics and projects in service of big-picture business goals
- Support Account Directors, Account Managers, and project services personnel by providing clear strategic direction and inspiration to both clients and internal project teams
- Participate in new business development meetings and presentations when required and partner with account directors to drive client satisfaction and growth in key accounts
- Lead annual tactical/ brand planning strategic activities for assigned business unit(s) in partnership with strategy and account team members
- Keep up with technology trends such as web, mobile, CRM, and social, and participate in regular knowledge exchanges with peers
- Maintain a passion for and a strong POV on the evolution of digital marketing. Sharing these perspectives and insights with internal team members and clients
- Experiment with new tools and techniques to constantly improve our strategic processes and output
- Develop or contribute to strategic frameworks that improve the quality and efficiency of digital marketing strategy deliverables
