Strategists are responsible for assisting clients in defining their digital marketing needs, conceptualizing strategies and tactics to meet those needs in innovative ways, and ensuring the integrity and implementation of strategic principles throughout a project’s life span. This includes gathering and summarizing research, performing stakeholder interviews, facilitating strategy workshops with clients to gain clarity and alignment on goals, collaborating with creative teams, and developing recommendations to establish project direction. You’ll also serve as a digital marketing consultant in day-to-day interactions with both internal and external project teams, helping to solve problems and craft exceptional user experiences. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of clients’ needs, business, products, and market, and conduct regular reviews of their competitors’ activities and online presence
  • Lead discovery and research in early project stages: conduct stakeholder interviews, guide primary and secondary research, review analytics and other materials in order to distill findings for project teams
  • Define marketing direction for major Toolhouse projects, including leading brainstorming meetings with the Toolhouse project team to come up with fresh ideas that can be used to create compelling strategic visions for Toolhouse clients
  • Develop recommendations for project direction based on research, industry knowledge, digital best practices, collaboration with creative teams, and established client goals
  • Create or contribute to various documents and presentations such as creative briefs, positioning statements, brand ecosystem maps, digital communication plans, research plans, social media strategies, customer journeys, and digital strategy roadmaps
  • Provide ongoing strategic and tactical advice to clients on a wide range of digital marketing topics, and continue to highlight Toolhouse’s value in the digital marketing space
  • Advise clients and Toolhouse teams in driving Strategic cohesion across all related tactics and projects in service of big-picture business goals.
  • Support Account Directors, Account Managers, and project services personnel by providing clear strategic direction and inspiration to both clients and internal project teams
  • Participate in new business development meetings and presentations when required and partner with account directors to drive client satisfaction and growth in key accounts
  • Keep up with technology trends such as web, mobile, CRM, and social, and participate in regular knowledge exchanges with peers
  • Experiment with new tools and techniques to constantly improve our strategic processes and output

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 7+ years of experience in a client-facing role at a digital marketing agency, or within a digital marketing role on the client/brand side. Pharmaceutical Marketing experience required.
  • 4-year degree, preferably with a specialty in Marketing
  • In-depth knowledge of brand & product marketing, multi-channel marketing, digital marketing and related technologies, web analytics, social media, mobile and device trends, and large enterprise marketing needs.
  • Relentless problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and resolve complex challenges for varied client needs
  • Willingness and ability to travel (1-2 times per quarter). 
  • Ability to create professional-looking documents and presentations coupled with strong presentation and speaking skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to carefully manage details
  • Ability and desire to collaborate effectively with a wide range of team members, including colleagues and clients with varying professional backgrounds and specialties.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects at once in a fast-paced and self-driven environment
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact, and professionalism
  • Experience in medical or technology marketing a plus, especially in large enterprise environments

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $120,000.00.  Your salary will be determined using an array of factors including your experience, skills and other relevant factors. 

We also provide insurance benefits including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. If hired, you will be eligible to enroll in our 401k plan and Toolhouse will match a portion of your contributions. We offer all new employees 3 weeks of paid vacation annually, plus 11 paid holidays, and paid sick leave in accordance with Washington state law. We also provide a monetary wellness bonus and you may receive other bonuses, and as well may be eligible to participate in our annual profit sharing program.
